Message Level Response (MLR)

a message which corner 3 (receiver’s service provider) issues to corner 2 (sender’s service provider) in a four-corner model to confirm the validity of the received payload message containing the original document i.e. it is well formed and readable, or is rejected. The MLR may also be used to confirm the successful or unsuccessful delivery of the original document to corner 4 (the receiver or buyer).
