The EESPA community is pleased and proud to have contributed actively to the new CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) e-invoicing readiness checker (http://188.8.131.52/). We have participated in the Advisory Group and provided a number of written contributions.
The readiness checker will be a valuable web tool to help all public authorities in the EU to implement the requirements of Directive 2014/55/EU, under which they are required to adopt e-invoicing by means of a new invoice standard.
The core of the web-site is a Questionnaire to be used by public authorities (http://184.108.40.206/self-assessment/1_en – PDF). It contains a comprehensive list of issues to be addressed in the adoption of e-invoicing and we encourage end users and service and solution providers to make use of the material.
As Henrik Möller of EESPA member InExchange has said: “We think that the questions are from a public administration point of view very good. It lets them start thinking of how much work there is, and hopefully lets them start thinking of a service provider.”
A second component is a section where service and solution providers are able to register and set out their capabilities (http://220.127.116.11/search/service-providers_en). Many EESPA members have created a presence in this section. More will no doubt follow.
Thirdly, there is a very useful section which consists of a large number of country sheets describing the state of play in e-invoicing adoption among EU Member States (http://18.104.22.168/countries_en). This will be updated as e-invoicing adoption develops.
EESPA is committed to continuing to build a strong partnership with EU colleagues for the purpose of promoting the very substantial cost savings and process efficiency obtainable through e-invoicing.
